Sure Prospects School

Greetings to you all,

Today, was quiet a beautiful and eventful day with rather undecided weather as it was a bit chilly but later it turned out to be very sunny. We had breakfast at the usual time,8.30 a.m ,and it being a Sunday, some of us went for the church service at St.James Chapel Mubs from 9 to 10.

From there we then departed to Sure Prospects School on Entebbe road.We were warmly welcomed and briefed about the school which was started by a group of disabled people with a desire to give a chance to the less advantaged and often despised persons in Uganda. The school is a home to the blind, deaf, lame, mentally challenged to mention but a few.

Much as the school was mainly started to care for the disabled children,as time went on, it opened its gates to the orphans as well. The school has a number of 20 to 25 children in each class mainly to ensure maximum interaction between the children and their teachers.

Besides academic work, the school also has vocational training in baking and tailoring among others, and the children are arranged in a chain such that each child can contribute in their own capacity. The school has a farm where it gets its food from and also gets aid from the Dutch in collaboration with KLM as well as other non governmental organizations.

It was such a beautiful moment just being with the children and seeing them smile, without a care in the world and surely agreeing that disability is not inability.
